The Italian school "Scuola Verde L'Olmo" is located in a modern and sunny building surrounded by a green park and situated close to the river Montone. In the summertime lessons are held outside in the garden. Under a new management it has become a certified Language School for Foreigners recognized by the state in the year 2000. The school works with professional teachers with many years of experience teaching the Italian language to foreign students.

The combination of the teachers good mood and professional methods, the small classes and the fact that Scuola Verde L'Olmo is placed in a little and friendly village that fosters contact between students and the local people,- all this together helps the students to learn the Italian language more easily and encourages the spontaneous practice.

Portico

Portico, Bocconi and San Benedetto in Alpe, the 3 villages constituting our little municipality with only about a thousand inhabitants, are situated in the Appennine Mountains on the border between Tuscany and Romagna in the Valley of the Montone River. The valley extends from Forlì over the National Park “Parco Nazionale delle Foreste Casentinesi” as far as the pass “The Muraglione” on the Tuscan borderline.

The clean river, the Montone, flows through the valley with an infinite number of little and big waterfalls, and is the ideal place for young and old ones to take a swim, sunbath or do some fishing.
Along the river you find our little and tranquil medieval villages, where the old traditions like the romagnole kitchen still uphold.
